Between staffing shortages, back-to-back scans, and nationwide increases in imaging volumes, shift fatigue is hitting techs harder than ever. Combat it with proactive energy management: hydrate early, pack high-protein snacks, stretch every hour, and take advantage of any break (even 90 seconds!). If you work nights, create a consistent sleep routine—cool room, eye mask, white noise, and phone off. And don’t forget movement: a quick hallway walk boosts circulation and focus more than caffeine alone. Fatigue happens—but with the right habits, burnout doesn’t have to.
